Privacy & shared links

Milo has no sign-in, accounts, guest cookies or recovery links. A meetup’s unique link is its shared access key. Keep the link to return from any device.

Anyone with the link can edit

Anyone who has a meetup link can view and edit its people, locations, place suggestions, named votes and final venue. Forwarding the link grants the same access. Groups are not publicly listed, but a link is not a password-protected private account.

Locations

Names, confirmed locations, suggestions and votes are saved in the hosted database. Current location is requested only when someone clicks that button; there is no continuous tracking. Confirmed new location pins are shared with everyone who has the meetup link. Use a neighborhood or public landmark instead of a home address if preferred. Previously private pins from the earlier version remain rounded until edited and confirmed under this shared model.

Anyone with the link can remove a saved location through the person’s edit form. Distance calculations use saved coordinates on the server.

Search providers

Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. Searches and search-area coordinates are sent to Photon; results are cached for up to 24 hours. Locality lookup sends a rounded geographic meeting point, not a list of names and home addresses. Opening a Maps link sends the selected destination to that service. No Google API key or billing setup is used.

Votes and retention

Votes are recorded against names in the group and are not identity-verified. Anyone with the link can change a vote for a selected name. Data persists until removed; there is no automatic group expiry. Contact the app operator to request an entire group’s deletion. This app adds no advertising or analytics trackers.
